Q: How do I register and what methods of payment are accepted?

A: Select the Feed Industry HACCP course from the Soil & Crop Sciences page within the Texas A&M Marketplace and follow the on-screen instructions. Amex, Discover, Mastercard and Visa are all accepted. https://secure.touchnet.com/C21490_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=26

Q: I need a receipt. What type of confirmation will I receive when I register online?

A: At the end of the online registration process, you will receive a confirmation page with the title of the program, amount paid, method of payment, name listed on the credit card, last four digits of the credit card account number, date of transaction, and confirmation number. Please print this page as proof of purchase. You will also receive confirmation by email.

Online Course Format

Q: How do I begin the course?

A: You will receive an email from the instructor after you've registered with a user ID and password to access the course Web site and materials.

Q: How do I access the online course and what is eLearning?

A: The instructor will provide a user ID and password to each student to access the online materials for this course, including articles, through the course Web site at http://elearning.tamu.edu, which will become available on the first day of class, Tuesday, September 8, 2009. eLearning provides class communication tools and allows participants secure access to materials.

To access the Feed Industry HACCP course:

    • Go to http://elearning.tamu.edu
    • Click "Continuing Education" logon
    • Log on with the User ID and Password provided by the instructor.  You will be asked to change your password when you access the course for the first time.
    • Select “Feed Industry HACCP” to enter the course. The course schedule and assignment pages will guide you through the course.


Q: How is the online course content formatted and what time committments are required?

A: The course schedule and weekly assignment pages will guide you through the course, which includes 8 weeks of lectures and reading, with an additional 7 weeks to complete the HACCP plan. The lectures and reading combined should occupy about 30 hours and the HACCP plan about the same amount of time.

Online Class Communications

Q: Will there be any formal webinar lecture/discussion or will the process be targeted at the materials? (book, DVD, etc.)

A: The course will focus on your Textbook (HACCP: A Systematic Approach to Food Safety, Virginia N. Scott and Kenneth E. Stevenson, Fourth Edition 2006), Course materials and DVDs
